About the Comal County Big Buck Contest

The Comal county Big Buck Contest, Inc. was formed in 1997. Its purpose is to educate our youth on hunting and gun safety as well as preserving the environment and the historic hunting culture of Comal County and surrounding areas. In the past, we have provided free hunter education classes for youth and adults, donated thousands of pounds of meat to the needy and donated over $6,000 to local charities. All of this in addition to our scholarship program that has, to date, provided over $35,000 to local youths to help defray the costs of higher education.

Next year’s annual awards banquet will be held on September 18th, 2011 at 4 pm at the New Braunfels Civic Center. We will award prizes to top hunters, including several youth divisions, plus many other categories. There is a silent auction and door prizes. It is a fun filled family event for all ages.

We are seeking donations for door prizes as well as larger prizes for the various hunting categories. We also accept cash donations by check. The folks who attend this banquet live mainly within a 50 mile radius so it is good advertising. All contributions will be recognized during the banquet and donations of $100 or more will receive a complimentary ticket to the event.
